THE BASSETT HOUSE
A B&B Country
InnBuilt in 1830 with several additions up to 1926,and eligible to be listed in The National Directory of Historic Places, the public and guest rooms each blend comfortable furniture of varied vintages in a setting which is purposefully informal and relaxing.
I try to make you comforable while away from your home.
The parlor, living room and dining room all flow from one to the other without jarring transition, this combination can also be an ideal situation for small groups or business meetings.and can be catered to suit the needs of guests.
We Have had some wonderful romantic weddings here.
The rooms, twelve in all, are bright and airy.
8 rooms have private baths, two with fireplaces; the master Bedroom has a 6' whirlpool spa.and is quite spacious.
The Inn's central location provides easy access to the village, beaches, country walks, restaurants, and just about anything in the form of recreation. And of coarse the famious Yard Sales and antiqueing. EAST HAMPTON REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL AREA. It's not just a summer resort: spring, fall, and winter offer their own special feeling and warmth. Try an off-season weekend. THE BASSETT HOUSE IS OPEN YEAR-ROUND.
Bring your camera! I will guide you to some special places, not always seen by the uncurious!!

What better recommendation can there be than guests, who, upon leaving, think enough of their stay to write a little note. Here are just a few:
Bed and Breakfast country inns are charming places to spend time when away from home. When you walk in the door, you are greeted with warmth and gracious hospitality. Your host is happy to see you and will do everything to make your stay a pleasant one.
In much the same way that staying at inns is a different experience from staying at commercial, impersonal hotels or motels, so is the attitude of the inn guest different from that of the motel traveler. The ideal inn guest is someone who values the qualities offered by a country inn, and who contributes to that ambience with his or her own consideration and friendliness. When visiting an inn, think of yourself as a guest in the home of a good friend. There is always the opportunity to make friends with the other inn guests.
Will Rogers once said, "Strangers are merely friends who haven't met."
My ability to have guests feel at home and comfortable as soon as they arrive is my best asset. I try to encourage a pleasant atmosphere of camaraderie, especially around my long breakfast table.
Full American breakfast, made to order from 8:00 to 9:30a.m., is included in the room rate. Have it in the dining room or outside on the lawn and garden area.
I hope I have sparked your interest, and that you'll give the Bassett House a try the next time you travel away from home and the hamptons. It's a lovely experience you don't want to miss.
